We’ve Got a Lot Growin’ On!

What does community mean to you? Fellowship, shared experiences, failures, and hopefully successes? Us too! Here at the Ochs Community Garden it means growing and learning together, sweating and digging together, and celebrating and sharing the fruits of our labor.

The Ochs Garden is a multi-generational community garden where 4H youth programs, Master Gardener Volunteer education, and community gardeners all learn and grow together. We demonstrate vegetable and herb garden techniques by growing in the ground, in raised beds, and even in standing/wheelchair accessible beds. But it’s more than vegetables and herbs- we also grow fruit trees and have two distinct pollinator garden demonstrations in addition to a large compost bin and potting area. Also soon to be completed is a newly renovated indoor space to hold classes when the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Want to learn more with us? Click here to register for one of our fall classes (or the entire series!). . We’ll be teaching garden irrigation, soils and fertility, composting, and learning about gardening with local wildlife in mind. These classes are led by Extension faculty, staff, and Master Gardener volunteers.
