We would like to sincerely thank the Bonner Middle School community for the
tremendous book drive they held in June for the foundation’s October book
sale. This is the second year they have done this, and this year their goal was
to gather at least 600 books – one for each Bonner student. Well, they exceeded
that goal and we are very excited with the results.
Special thanks to teachers Dave Posey, Thea Carter and Myra Rogers. Their
school team, called the Rockin’ BSEA Bears, took responsibility for running the
book drive by collecting the books, boxing them and carrying them out to our
vehicle.
We really wish to promote children’s literacy, so most kids’ books sell for only 50
cents at our sale. The leftover books are donated to the Community Resource
Bus to give to families in the Cowichan Valley. Please spread the word and come
on out on October 15th to pick up some terrific bargains!
